FAIRFIELD - Fairfield First Selectman Ken Flatto is stepping down from his role in town to take a job in Gov. Dannel Malloy's administration.

Flatto, who has been the town's chief executive for 12 of the last 14 years, has been appointed to be the executive director of the Division of Special Revenue.

The department manages various revenue streams including legalized gaming such as the lottery and the state's casinos.

Flatto says he will step down in April.
