FAIRFIELD - Fairfield officials are warning residents after police say three people have been attacked by hawks in recent weeks.

Police say that fortunately, the birds only grazed students' heads at Ludlowe High School and there were no injuries. They say the first two incidents happened in December and the most recent occurred last Thursday.

Officials have released photos of what they believe to be three red-tailed hawks.

The director of the Beardsley Zoo, Gregg Dancho, took a closer look at the photos and told News 12 Connecticut that the stripes on their tails indicate they could be cooper hawks.

Police say they believe they have located the nest and hope to move it to a safe location that will better serve the students and the birds in the next couple of days.
