FAIRFIELD - Employees at a Fairfield metal shop returned to work Monday after a fire destroyed part of the facility last week.

Fire officials say the building where the fire started Thursday morning at the Superior Plating Company contained hazardous materials and even chemicals that react with water.

Firefighters were able to completely contain the fire to a warehouse behind the main plant. A company spokesman says there's been no interruption to production at the plant.
