FAIRFIELD - People in Fairfield say graffiti is becoming a big problem.

Gary Pond, a neighbor of the Fairfield Metro train station, says he has been seeing graffiti show up all over that part of town.

Pond is concerned about what it might mean for the future of his community and his property value. He also fears graffiti is one way that more serious crimes can start.

First Selectman Mike Tetreau says the town doesn't own the land or structures by the train station. Developer BlackRock Realty does.

Tetreau says he is reaching out to the town's blight officer so they can take steps to clean up the graffiti.

News 12 reached out to BlackRock Realty, but did not hear back.
