Fairfield residents get power back after 8 days in the dark

FAIRFIELD - Eight days after Irene knocked out power in Fairfield, residents are finally out of the dark.

Utility crews from the mid-west arrived late this morning and immediately got down to work, restoring power to the area.

Some workers say they spent three days driving from Missouri to help get power back on for residents.

United Illuminating says they've been working hard, under very difficult conditions, to get everyone's power back on as soon as possible.
