FAIRFIELD - The Community Theater in Fairfield has been closed but town leaders say they expect it to reopen this weekend.

First Selectman Mike Tetreau says he recently noticed the word closed on the marquee and that's what got him wondering.

News 12 Connecticut has not been able yet to track down the owner of the theater despite several attempts.

However, News 12 did speak with the organizer of an event scheduled at the theater for this weekend.

She says she recently talked with the owner who told her there were some problems but they've been fixed and she can plan on having her event.

Tetreau says keeping this place open is vital to the community.
