Fairfield voters deciding first selectman

FAIRFIELD - Voters in Fairfield are choosing a first selectman today.

Interim Democratic First Selectman Mike Tetreau took over when Ken Flatto resigned to take a job in Hartford.

Just before voting this morning, Tetreau said he has had a busy five months dealing with controversy surrounding the town's Metro Train Station project and the hard hit Fairfield took during Tropical Storm Irene.

Tetreau's opponents are Republican Robert Bellitto and Independent Hugh Dolan.

Bellitto is currently vice chair of the Board of Finance.

Dolan has been a firefighter in town since 1991 and has never held public office.
