GREENWICH - A family is in mourning after a 28-year-old Connecticut woman was struck and killed by a train.
The woman was struck by a northbound train headed to New Haven at the Cos Cob train station in Greenwich Friday morning.
Metro-North officials tell News 12 that the young woman was hit by the train at 9:30 a.m. after trying to retrieve her wallet and purse on the tracks.
MTA Deputy Inspector Timothy Denmark says there are no cameras at the station or on the train, but officials are analyzing the train's data recorder to help determine the cause of the accident.
The woman's identity has not yet been released.
