BRIDGEPORT - The family of a Bridgeport man who was killed in a hit-and-run last week needs help to pay for his funeral.
Tyron Tate, 21, was fatally struck last week. Today, his family came together in a show of unity as they attempt to come up with $8,000 to pay for his funeral costs.
Police say 36-year-old Dennis Berrios hit Tate on the 600-block of Noble Avenue and then left the scene of the accident. Berrios was later arrested.

Janet Lopez, Tate’s mother, says it’s not fair that one week later, Berrios is free on bond.
“He dragged my son a block and a half. He took my son and he's out there free. That's not right,” she told News 12.
A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday evening at Luz de Paz Funeral Home, followed by the burial on Wednesday.
Tate's family has set up a fund to pay for his funeral.
