BRIDGEPORT - The family of a 24-year-old murder victim from Bridgeport spoke publicly for the first time Friday about the arrest made in the case.

On Thursday, police charged Abimael Ramos, 30, with murder in the 2011 shooting of Luz Morales. Ramos was already behind bars on drug charges. He originally claimed Morales was killed in a home invasion, but investigators who re-examined the case say they determined that Ramos shot her.

Morales' relatives say that the arrest was an answer to a prayer and they want Ramos to pay for what police say he did. They say they won't rest easy unless Ramos gets convicted and receives a prison sentence of at least 20 years.

Ramos is being held on $500,000 bond.
