Family prays for Bridgeport attack victim

BRIDGEPORT - The family of a 77-year-old Bridgeport woman who was attacked on the street say they are praying for her recovery.

According to police, Marjorie Meketa was stabbed with a broken wine glass on Dec. 22 by Marvin Narcisse while she was walking home from the grocery store on William Street.

They say Narcisse stomped on her head as she lay on the ground until a witness came to her aid.

Meketa is currently in a coma at Bridgeport Hospital and family members say they are heartbroken by the attack.

Narcisse, who did not know Meketa, was charged with attempted murder and is being held on $100,000 bond.
