BRIDGEPORT - Soccer fans from across southwestern Connecticut were sitting in front of televisions yesterday as the World Cup kicked off.
A large group of fans gathered at Club Portuguese in Bridgeport to catch the action.
Fans watched intently as South Africa and Mexico played the first match of the 32-team tournament.
Many restaurants and bars say fans gathering to watch the games will be big for their businesses. Today, Team USA will take the field against England.
