Fate of Fairfield theater up in the air

FAIRFIELD - It's curtains up for a Fairfield theater and now, leaders say they want to clear up the mystery surrounding a recent unscheduled closing.

The Fairfield Community Theatre on the Post Road closed a few weeks ago, and many people have been wondering if that means it's closing for good.

First Selectman Michael Tetreau says the investor who runs the theater is out of funds to keep it open. "I think we need some new people to step up and help move it forward and help keep it alive for another 10, 20, 30 years."

Town leaders are encouraging all interested investors to contact them.
