Father gunned down outside Bridgeport home

Bridgeport police are searching for the suspect in a shooting that left a 21-year-old father dead early this morning.

BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport police are searching for the suspect in a shooting that left a 21-year-old father dead early this morning.

Police say Dayquan Henry was shot multiple times at around 12:30 a.m. outside his home on Newfield Avenue. They say he collapsed in his backyard, and was rushed to the hospital, where he died.

Family members say he leaves behind an 11-month-old son, Dayquan Anthony Henry Jr.

Police have yet to determine a motive in the shooting, and witnesses say they heard a car speeding away. Anyone with information is urged to call Bridgeport police at 203-581-5100.
