BRIDGEPORT - Connecticut Gov. M. Jodi Rell announced today that the federal government rejected the state's request for disaster aid a second time.
Local residents and businesses were banking on the money after a tornado ripped through the city and high winds ransacked neighboring towns.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency initially denied Rell's disaster aid request last month, saying the $4 million in damage is not beyond the state's means.
When Rell appealed that decision, FEMA refused to budge.
