BRIDGEPORT - Some residents in the Black Rock section of Bridgeport say they are fighting to save a historic property from being torn down.

The owner of the home on Brewster Street says he was given permission by the historic commission to build condos on the property if he also fixes up the home.

Neighbors have appealed the decision and say they were shocked when part of the house's garage was taken down.

The homeowner says the garage has been swaying, but city inspectors say he doesn't have the permits to do any work.
