Finalists named in Westport's 'Top Dog' contest

WESTPORT - The finalists in Westport?s annual "Top Dog" contest have been named, making it a tight race.

Baby, Bella Rose, Blue Bear, Bruce, China and Lola are all vying for the coveted title of "Top Dog" in Westport.

The contest is held by the Westport Animal Shelter Advocates, also known as WASA. Julie Loparo, the president of WASA, says there were 25 applicants this year. Each applicant had to send in a picture, a donation and an essay on their dog.

A four-legged winner is expected to be announced Thursday.
