BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport firefighters are investigating what sparked a fire at a business on North Avenue this morning.

Firefighters say the fire started around 7 a.m. at M & F Auto Body.

Firefighters say a mechanic was preparing to work on a car when the fire broke out and caused major damage.

They say first responders checked out the workers.

Firefighters say they had to shut off gas to the building to battle the blaze.

They say the business is badly damaged.
