Fire causes evacuation at University of Bridgeport

Things are expected to get back to normal at the University of Bridgeport after the student center was evacuated because of a fire yesterday. It

BRIDGEPORT - Things are expected to get back to normal at the University of Bridgeport after the student center was evacuated because of a fire yesterday.

It happened around 6 p.m.

Officials say the roof is being renovated and a stack of roofing material caught fire.

The fire forced WPKN, an independent community radio station on the campus, to go off the air last night.

No one was hurt.
