Fire destroys Bridgeport home

A Bridgeport family was forced out into the cold after a quick moving fire spread through their home. It happened around 12:30 a.m. on Beers

BRIDGEPORT - A Bridgeport family was forced out into the cold after a quick moving fire spread through their home.

It happened around 12:30 a.m. on Beers Street.

Firefighters say the frigid temperatures made it difficult to fight the flames. 

The homeowner says he smelled smoke and got his kids out of the house quickly.

The fire marshal is investigating the cause.
