Crews in Orange spent much of Thursday evening battling a fire that started in a pile of mulch.

The fire sparked at around 4 p.m. and winds picked it up, spreading it to a nearby wooded area.

The flames charred about 15 acres near Edison Road. The smoke drifted across I-95, causing a lot of commuters to pump the brakes.
