REDDING - Firefighters from several nearby towns worked together to control a massive fire in Redding yesterday.

The blaze broke out at a home on Black Rock Turnpike and shut down part of the road for nearly four hours.

Investigators think the fire started on the roof or in the attic.

The house is about a half a mile into the woods, and trucks struggled to fit through the home's narrow driveway.

Officials say the homeowner's son was outside when he spotted the flames and ran inside to save their dog.

No one was hurt.
