BRIDGEPORT - Firefighters battled an intense fire at a Bridgeport fuel yard early this morning.

According to officials, the flames broke out at around 1 a.m. at the old Hoffman Fuel building near East Washington and Housatonic avenues.

Fire officials say the fire engulfed the second floor of the building before the roof caved in. All of the firefighters inside the building made it out and no one was hurt.

Officials say they were able to keep the flames from spreading to other parts of the facility.

A representative from Hoffman Fuel says customers will not be affected by the fire.
