NORWALK - Firefighters from southwestern Connecticut and the entire Northeast are preparing for the funerals of two Bridgeport firefighters killed in the line of duty Saturday.

Officials expect as many as 10,000 people from as far away as Canada to attend the funerals for Steven Velasquez and Mitch Baik.

Two services will be held for immediate family and members of the Bridgeport Fire Department and the department will provide full honors for both, including a procession from both churches to the burial site.

About a dozen local fire companies are also planning to be in Bridgeport covering the city so all Bridgeport firefighters will be able to attend the funeral.
