Firefighters stop flames from destroying Redding home

REDDING - ? Firefighters quickly brought a fire under control and prevented extensive damage to a home in Redding early Monday.

Firefighters were called to 62 Drummer Lane after midnight. They say upon their arrival, they found flames quickly climbing up the side of the house.

Fire crews jumped into action and brought the fire under control before it caused extensive damage to the house.

?It was basically a chimney fire that involved the exterior chimney of the house and part of the siding of the house,? said fire Captain Ron Van Oostendorp.

Everyone managed to get out without incident. Fire officials eventually allowed them back inside.
