FAIRFIELD - The jury in the Christopher DiMeo murder trial will begin its first full day of deliberations today.

Closing arguments were given yesterday in the trial of the man charged with killing two Fairfield jewelers in 2005.

DiMeo has already confessed to gunning down two Fairfield jewelers and could get the death penalty if the jury agrees there was an intent to kill.

The defense lawyer argued that Kim Donnelly's screams at seeing the gun pointed at her husband Tim may have caused "this junkie with a gun" to begin shooting.

DiMeo is already serving a life sentence for the robbery and murder of a New York jeweler.
