CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Democratic National Convention officially opened Tuesday evening in Charlotte, N.C.

Among the speakers was Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro, who took part in a segment dedicated to Women of the U.S. House of Representatives. She spoke about how women are under-represented, and under-served.

First lady Michelle Obama was the final speaker tonight. Gov. Dannel Malloy is scheduled to speak Wednesday night at 6:45 p.m.
