HARTFORD - The former chief of staff to the Connecticut House Republicans is free on bail after pleading guilty to mail fraud.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says George Gallo, 46, admitted Monday that he took more than $100,000 in order to steer business to a political direct mail company.
Part of his job was to coordinate campaign mail for House Republicans.

Gallo faces up to 20 years in prison and is scheduled to be sentenced in July.
