NEW HAVEN - A judge today sentenced a former Fairfield University student to 235 months behind bars for sexually abusing underage boys at a school he founded in Haiti.
Douglas Perlitz appeared in New Haven Federal Court after pleading guilty to federal charges in August, when he admitted to abusing at least eight impoverished boys placed in his care.
Six of the victims were also in court today from Haiti to give statements against Perlitz.
After serving his sentence, Perlitz also faces two years of supervision.
