STRATFORD - Friends are remembering a Maryland state trooper who grew up in Stratford and was killed in a car crash over the weekend.

Police say Shaft Hunter, 39, died when his patrol car skidded into the back of an illegally parked tractor-trailer on I-95.

Maryland police say they believe Hunter was chasing a speeding motorcycle.

Hunter grew up in Stratford and graduated from St. Joe's High School in Trumbull in 1990.

His former football coach tells us he was a wonderful man.
