Former Little League World Series Champions from Trumbull cheering on Westport

The owners of the Colony Grill say they’ve been hosting watch parties for all of Westport’s World Series games. (8/19/13)

FAIRFIELD - Former Little League World Series Champions from Trumbull are rooting on Westport's team.

The team won the entire tournament and became World Champions almost 25 years ago.

Four former Trumbull all-stars now own the Colony Grill in Fairfield, where they have their team's jersey hanging on the wall as a reminder of their remarkable run. Teammate Ken Martin says he still remembers the final moment.

Paul Coniglio says he appreciates the once-in-a-lifetime experience even more so now. After their incredible season, the team got to meet President George Bush and attend the Major League Baseball World Series, among other things.

The owners of the Colony Grill say they've been hosting watch parties at their restaurant for all of Westport's World Series games. They say they're expecting a big crowd Wednesday night as Westport takes on California in the U.S. Semi-Final Game.
