DARIEN - Former WCBS news anchor Rob Morrison sat down with News 12 Connecticut to share his side of the story regarding his recent arrest.

Morrison was arrested Monday for allegedly violating a protective order that prohibits him from contacting his wife, Ashley. He's now facing charges for allegedly calling her more than 100 times over Memorial Day weekend. He was arrested last year for allegedly trying to strangle her, but that case has been resolved.

Morrison told News 12's Kristi Olds that he and his wife are doing much better and said this most recent arrest was a misunderstanding that was blown out of proportion.

The arrest warrant says Ashley Morrison was "physically shaking and appeared in a fragile state" when she went to the police department on May 25. Police say phone records show Morrison called her 121 times that weekend, but Morrison claims he was trying to reach their 9-year-old son.

"I was a really concerned father who desperately wanted to speak to his son," says Morrison. "I wasn't having any luck getting through."

Police records show Ashley Morrison did not want to press charges. Her attorney told News 12 Connecticut that they have no comment about anything her husband said today.
