WESTPORT - A Westport native fell to his death last weekend in New York City.

Noah Witke died Sunday after falling off the fire escape at his apartment building in Manhattan's Harlem neighborhood.

Witke had reportedly forgotten his keys at work and was trying to get in through a window. Police say he lost his footing and fell five stories.

The 2009 graduate of Staples High School began performing with the Staples Players, the school's drama club, at age 10 and performed in more than a dozen plays during his high school years. After graduating, he went on to study at New York's prestigious Juilliard School and became a successful actor in New York City.

While there are currently no official plans for a memorial at the school, Staples's drama teacher tells News 12 their upcoming performance of "The Music Man" will be dedicated to Witke.
