Foster denied spot on Bridgeport mayoral ballot

BRIDGEPORT - A Bridgeport woman says she's been denied a spot on the city's mayoral primary ballot.

Mary Jane Foster says the city's democratic registrar of voters refused to put her name on the ballot because she included four names of Board of Education candidates on her petition.

The city says the charter allows only three names, but Foster claims state law allows four.

Foster's campaign says it's planning to sue.
