GREENWICH - Friends and family are mourning the loss of a teen from Greenwich who died in a car crash on Saturday morning.

Friends say 19-year-old Vinny Scorese graduated from Greenwich High School last year and was captain of the hockey team.

Police say that he lost control of his car while driving around a curve on Riversville Road and crashed into a stone wall. Scorese’s car went up in flames.

Police are investigating what caused the crash.

A memorial placed near the site of the accident is growing in size as friends and loved ones gather to honor Scorese.
