GREENWICH - Friends of a Greenwich High School student who committed suicide this week said they witnessed the bullying that likely led to his death.

Fellow students say Bart Palosz, 15, was repeatedly mistreated and never fit in with a crowd. After authorities say Palosz shot himself in his home Tuesday night, those same students now say they wish they had stepped in to stop the abuse.

Some students even say they're experiencing a form of survivors' guilt, adding that Palosz's death has taught them a painful lesson about human fragility.

Palosz's funeral is scheduled for Friday at 3 p.m. at the Holy Name of Jesus Church in Stamford.
