STAMFORD - Stamford police say a fugitive is back behind bars after escaping custody in Darien.

It happened around noon yesterday at the southbound rest stop on I-95.

Police say a bail bondsman was taking the suspect to court when the man ran into the woods behind the rest area.

Officers say they used a dog to track down the suspect a short time later.
