Fundraiser held for Joel Barlow H.S. sports programs

EASTON - Dozens of parents and community members gathered today to play a round of golf in support of the athletic programs at Joel Barlow High School.

Parents say the first annual golf tournament is important to ensure Joel Barlow High School's athletic programs have the resources they need to stay strong during these tough economic times.

The athletic director says the money raised will allow the school to enhance the experience of its athletes.

Organizers say the fee to play was $350 per person or $1,200 for a team of four.

Organizer Dr. Philip Falcone says he hopes to raise at least $10,000 today.
