STRATFORD - Friends and family are remembering a Stratford softball legend at his funeral today.

Fred DeLuca's friends and family filed into Saint James Roman Catholic Church to pay their respects.

Friends say he will be remembered for the impact he left on the town . Some even called him Mr. Stratford.

DeLuca was the first slow-pitch player elected into Amateur Softball Association Hall of Fame and is the namesake of the Stratford Brakettes field.

He passed away Monday at the age of 84. He is survived by his wife and two children.
