WASHINGTON - The Pentagon has ordered a majority of its furloughed civilian employees to head back to work, under the Pay Our Military Act.

Officials believe this move will cut back the 2,000 furloughs planned to go into effect at Stratford-based Sikorsky Aircraft starting tomorrow.

House Speaker John Boehner says he does not know when the government will reopen. He says President Barack Obama should negotiate with Republicans regarding the Affordable Care Act.

The president says he's willing to negotiate changes to his health care law and to find ways to cut spending after Congress reopens the government.
