Ganim says he expects smooth transition into office

BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport Mayor-Elect Joe Ganim held his first news conference today since winning the election on Tuesday.

He says he has already been speaking with members of the Regional Business Council, as well as Gov. Dannel Malloy to ensure a smooth leadership transition.

Ganim answered questions about his goals and priorities once he officially takes office.  He says he is determined to keep attracting developers to boost Bridgeport's economy.

Ganim says he has also begun discussions on accelerating the hiring process for the police force.
