BRIDGEPORT - A Bridgeport family displaced by an apartment fire will have a place to call home thanks to a News 12 viewer.

The Valasquez family lost their home in Bridgeport to a fire last week and has been staying at a local motel. Their Red Cross emergency money was set to expire at the end of the week.

After their story aired on News 12, the landlord of a multi-family home called them to offer a special rate on two apartments. The landlord also waived their security deposit.

News 12 reporter Frank Recchia will have more on their story at 5 p.m.
