NORWALK - A Good Samaritan saved a man from a burning car last night on the Merritt Parkway.
Officials say 19-year-old driver William Allen, of Greenwich, was pulled from a burning 2005 Jeep Cherokee on the northbound side between exits 40 and 41. Witnesses say it only took minutes before the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames.
The Jeep was up against the side of the overpass and partially on the guardrail as the fire spread.
Traffic was stopped for more than an hour while paramedics attended to the victim. Allen was taken to Norwalk Hospital.
