Good Samaritans rescue driver after car flips on Merritt Parkway

STAMFORD - A driver whose SUV rolled over on the Merritt Parkway is recovering in the hospital thanks to the help of a few good Samaritans.

The accident occurred on the southbound side of the parkway near Den Road at around 8:30 this morning.

Paul Moeller says he was on his way to work when he saw the accident. Moeller says he and five other people hopped out of their cars in the middle of the Parkway to help pull the driver to safety.

Stamford EMS says that the driver is currently recovering in Stamford Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
