NORWALK - Gov. Dannel Malloy has created a new state panel that will be responsible for trying to prevent another tragedy like the Newtown school shooting.

The Sandy Hook Commission will review the state's gun laws, mental health services and school security. The commission will then make suggestions on how to improve safety.

The governor says he hopes to have a plan formulated by the commission by mid-March so that lawmakers can then make the necessary changes to prevent another tragedy.
