BRIDGEPORT - Gov. Dannel Malloy joined Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch to discuss the progress the city is making in reducing violence.

State officials say Bridgeport is one of the cities getting a Youth Violence Prevention grant to help crack down on violent crime.
     
Malloy is hopeful the money will make a difference.

Mayor Finch said the best way to keep kids off the street is to give them opportunities for growth and development.
