BRIDGEPORT - Gov. Dannel Malloy has ordered extra pay loaders and other large trucks to be dispersed throughout the state to help municipalities dig out from the winter deluge.
The governor says 4,800 units of contracted equipment have been released, some of which will make it to Bridgeport within a day.
In the meantime, drivers in the Park City continue to get stuck on slushy streets. Residents say motorists should just stay home until the plows push through, but the message continues to fall on deaf ears.

Malloy says crews are working at 50 percent efficiency due not only to the lack of equipment, but cars parked along narrow streets.
