Gov. Malloy promotes Conn. tourism industry

WILTON - Gov. Dannel Malloy campaigned in southwestern Connecticut today as part of his statewide tourism program. Malloy, pushing the $27 million plan, visited Revolutionary War encampments and battlegrounds, as well as other historic locations. "It had gotten so bad that we didn't even pay our bills to the New England Promotion System," says Malloy of the state's poor tourism after the 2008 recession. "So, there were maps actually produced that didn't have Connecticut as part of New England." The governor also says one in 10 state workers is in the business of tourism or hospitality.
