NORWALK - At a press conference today, Gov. Dannel Malloy (D-Conn.) announced plans to introduce legislation that would allow Sunday alcohol sales in Connecticut, which would overturn the state's current "Blue Laws."
Gov. Malloy says allowing sales on Sunday, overturning some laws that have been around since Prohibiton, would create added revenue for stores and lower prices. Customers and liquor store owners welcome the news, though some smaller liquor store owners are concerned whether additional revenue will offset the added cost of staying open an additional day.
The legislation will be introduced next month.
