GREENWICH - Greenwich officials say the town's animal shelter is full and they may have to consider euthanizing some animals.

The shelter is asking people to adopt some of its animals to help open up space.

The shelter says it typically only considers euthanization for animals that are very old or sick. But with overcrowding that has lasted for more than six months, officials say they are looking into the option.

A new town shelter is expected to open in the fall with increased capacity.
